Does everyone know about the
Save the Children Knit One, Save One charity project? Sorry if it has been mentioned in another thread; I couldn't find it in a search. Save the Children need hats for babies in developing countries at risk of pneumonia. They are only asking for hats, no other items of clothing. The hats can be any colour except solid white (apparently this symbolises death in some African countries), made in an easy-wash yarn (being so small, the hats are great for using up bits of scrap in your stash) and should be 10 inches in circumference. Any infant pattern can be used, but they do provide a
"Knit Kit" PDF on their website containing a pattern, how to knit guide and more info about the campaign. There is also a
PDF poster which can be printed out and displayed on noticeboards etc. The campaign ends on 21st October and all hats will need to be received by Save the Children by then. I am going to start on some hats at the weekend, and I hope others might be able to help out too!
