Hi all,

Please could someone help me??? I have recently teken up knitting again after several years and thought I'd knit for a charity. I have recently bought a load of DK wool, but its called Jumbo and is 100% acrylic, is this ok to knit with for the baby pack project?? Obviously not being baby wool, I am worried incase it is too hard on their skin etc, however, it knits up quite nice (I've knitted afew toys for my son with it). What does everyone or anyone think??

I do have abit of 4ply, but have been knitting for Bonnie Babies with it, (they are premature).

If the DK wool isn't ok for the Baby Pack Project, I'll knit blankets with it for rescue dogs etc and buy more for the baby pack, but as I have so much of it, it'd be great to do both.

Please could someone advise??
Thanks

i'm not sure what the baby pack project is but i'm sure the acrylic will be fine. i always use it for baby things as it washes so easily after getting baby sick and alsorts on it. :D

just googled the charity and i'm sure they'll love your knits!! my mum buys me giant 500g balls of acrylic from her local market for me to make baby knits.
interesting that the charity accepts reusable nappies too! i sent all my old ones to the tsunami appeal but i know of people on another forum who would be interested in donating. :D

Please visit the site http://kznbabypack.blogspot.com/ which has the most up to date info on the baby pack. I recently visited Val Bailey in South Africa, and can confirm that the need is as great as ever, and all items are gratefully received.
They will also find homes for items for older children.
Please consider knitting a teddy to be included in the baby pack, and an Uthando doll for the older children
